Abstract

This study integrates the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to investigate the impact of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and subjective norms on students' attitude and intention to use ChatGPT. It further explores the mediating role of attitude in the relationship between these three factors and behavioral intention. Data were collected from a survey of 261 students in Hanoi and analyzed using SmartPLS 4.0. The findings largely supported the proposed hypotheses, with the exception of the relationship between perceived ease of use and attitude. Based on these results, the study discusses the implications and offers recommendations to promote the adoption of ChatGPT in higher education in Vietnam.
