Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the impact of public awareness and attitudes on household livelihood in Vietnam. Data from 57 provinces and cities were analyzed using multivariate regression, with independent variables including the Human Development Index (HDI); the percentage of households with internet access; the literacy rate among the population aged 15 and over, and the proportion of people participating in social networks. The results indicate that HDI, the literacy rate among the population aged 15 and over, and the proportion of people participating in social networks all have positive and statistically significant effects on average income, with social network participation playing the most important role. In contrast, the percentage of households with internet access did not show a statistically significant impact in the sample, suggesting that mere internet access is insufficient to improve income without complementary factors such as digital skills and supportive policies. The study recommends the coordinated development of policies aimed at enhancing education quality, digital skills, and the promotion of social network use to increase livelihood effectiveness and foster sustainable development for households across Vietnam.
