Abstract

This qualitative study aimed to explore the financial planning activities of female teachers in Vietnam. Through 24 semi-structured interviews with female teachers aged 40 to 56, the study focused on clarifying attitudes, motivations, financial knowledge levels as well as decision-making processes related to financial preparation for retirement. The study results showed that attitudes, knowledge and expectations play an important role in female teachers' financial planning for retirement. Based on the findings, this study proposed some policy implications to enhance the financial planning activities of female teachers, namely improving information provision mechanism, providing appropriate advice and developing strategies to enhance confidence in retirement planning.
