Abstract

This study evaluates the impact of financial literacy (comprising financial knowledge and financial behavior) along with demographic factors on the financial planning of individuals approaching retirement. In-depth interviews were used to assess theoretical influencing factors, as well as to calibrate the questionnaire and scales. A total of 1,012 valid responses were obtained (conducted through a market research company), and were processed using SPSS 26 and AMOS 25 software.. Both “financial knowledge” and “financial behavior” showed positive correlations. Except for gender, demographic factors including age, occupation, and education level all influenced the financial planning of approaching retirement. Relying on the findings, we proposed several policy implications through programs and recommended policies to relevant agencies.
