Abstract

Vietnam is the 10th country in the world and number 1 in Southeast Asia in industrial animal feed output. However, Vietnam’s animal feed industry depends heavily on imported raw materials; domestic supply meets part of the demand only. Due to them being imported, animal feed ingredients are at high prices; therefore, animal feed production enterprises and farmers face many risks, and accordingly, their competitiveness is affected. The year 2022 is expected to witness the recovery of the domestic and world economies after a period of serious crisis due to the negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, based on data collection and secondary data processing for the period from 2022 to the present, the paper evaluates the current status of consumption demand as well as the supply of animal feed ingredients in the Vietnamese market, thereby proposing solutions to contribute to stabilizing raw animal feed ingredient costs and developing a sustainable animal feed production industry.
