Abstract

This research work aims to investigate the role of FDI in economic growth through its impact on real GDP in Southeast Vietnam over the period of 2001-2020 through descriptive statistical, correlation matrix analysis, and the Feasible Generalized Least Squares (FGLS) estimation method using Stata 15.1. The results of the empirical findings show that FDI has a positive but insignificant impact on economic growth. In addition, the other new findings also revealed the impact of macro-factors on economic growth during the research period. From these findings, the authors propose solutions for promoting the significantly positive impact of FDI on sustainable economic growth in Southeast Vietnam in the upcoming time.
